Xtra Time Web Desk: It was a mesmerising moment at the Narendra Modi Stadium when 1.25 lakhs fans were singing together to the tunes of Vande Mataram by AR Rahman. The much-anticipated closing ceremony of IPL 2022 was an instant hit with Bollywood heartthrob Ranveer Singh stealing the show.

The closing ceremony was hosted by former India cricketer and commentator Ravi Shastri who greeted the capacity crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium. A giant T-shirt was placed at the middle of the park which created a world record for the biggest T-shirt. An official presented an official certificate to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and general secretary Jay Shah.

Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh entered the stage dressed in a shiny silver jacket, holding the IPL flag in his hand with ‘Jeetega Jeetega India Jeetega blaring in the background.

A clip of glorious moments from Indian cricket was played – 1983 World Cup title win, Virender Sehwag’s triple-ton, Sachin Tendulkar’s becoming first male cricketer to hit ODI double-century, India’s ODI World Cup win in 2011, India’s Champions Trophy win in 2013 and more. Oscar winning musician AR Rahman’s started his performance highlighting the iconic and redefining moments from Indian cricket over the years. He was joined by a host of singers – Mohit Chouhan, Neeti Mohan, Blaaze, Sivamani, Sasha Tripathi and Shweta Mohan. and backup dancers.
