This year, Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care is partnering with summer camps in New York and Connecticut.
With this partnership, camps can focus on enriching experiences, and access real-time healthcare services when needed, including through the urgent care’s virtual visit platform. This platform provides camps with a full range of healthcare services, including COVID-19 management. It also allows camps to avoid transporting campers and staff chaperones off-site, unless necessary.
The urgent care operates centers close to many of the camps, reducing the need to call for ambulances or drive long distances to the closest hospital.
This year, the urgent car is partnering with two day camps – Camps ‘R’ Us and Camp Oasis of New York – and five overnight camps – Camp Blue Bay in New York, and Camp Wah-Nee, Camp Stonewall, Channel 3 and Green Wood Trails in Connecticut.
“We are assisting with the health and safety programs for a number of camps this summer, some of which have been with us since the onset of the pandemic ,” Vivek Taparia, market president of Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care, said in a statement.
“Our relationship with camps allows camp directors, administrators and clinicians to focus on creating a great camp experience while managing increased pressures related to labor, supply chain and inflation,” he added. “Camp directors also appreciate alternatives to calling an ambulance or transporting campers and counselors offsite long distances for non-life threatening illness or injury, alleviating strain on staff and resources.”
