Xtra Time Web Desk: IPL 2022 winning Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya has set his next target. According to Hardik, winning a World Cup trophy for India is his top priority. Hardik has now won five IPL titles – four with Mumbai Indians and the fifth one as captain of Gujarat Titans.

“Absolutely to win the World Cup for India no matter what happen. I am going to give it everything I have. Always been that kind of guy, to put the team first. For me the goal will be simple: to make sure my team gets it the most,” Hardik said during the post-match media conference.

He added, “Playing for India has always been kind of dream come true no matter how many games I have played. It has always been a pleasure for me to represent the country. The kind of love and support I have got; it is only from the Indian team point of view. Long term, short term, I want to win the World Cup no matter what happens.”

Hardik has surprised everyone with his captaincy. He has found his mojo back in the recently concluded IPL 2022. He has excelled both with the bat and ball in the season. In the final against Rajasthan Royals, Hardik took three crucial wickets and also scored a crucial 34 runs when the team needed the most. He was rightly chosen as the Player of the Match.

It was a successful comeback for Hardik after injury troubles, and consequently his place in the Indian sides. All eyes will be on Hardik during the upcoming five match T20 series against South Africa.
